WHAT'S ON - TENNIS & SOCIAL
Our programme of club, social and team tennis continues throughout the year. Our season ‘kick-off’ is typically after the Easter holidays. If you are a new member looking to participate in any of our programmes, please reach out to our Head Coach, Tom Dean or our Club Captain, Mike Twinning for more information.
Nick Axford is our tennis section Social Secretary and runs a vibrant and highly enjoyable calendar of social events throughout the year. Nick also spearheads our volunteer rota for running the Clubhouse bar. You are welcome to get in touch if there are event ideas you’d like to contribute at dwltc.socialsec@gmail.com.
SOCIAL EVENTS
As much as we love our tennis, our membership also enjoys a full spectrum of social events throughout the year. A selection from our regular calendar includes casual evening b-b-q’s, bank holiday social tournaments, quiz nights, gin and wine tasting, junior discos, an annual summer ball and a Christmas party.
FRIDAY CLUB NIGHTS
Our Friday Club Nights are a highlight of the social calendar at Dukes Wood. The summer months are particularly popular, frequently reaching 'sell-out' capacity in 24 hours. These are often quintessential British summer evenings with tennis and cricket in full swing at our Sportsclub. Club nights are a wonderful opportunity for our families, junior and senior tennis members to mingle and socialise together. Organised social tennis is open to 16 people and, because it's organised, you'll need to sign up in advance. If you are interested in participating, please contact Gary Bunney.
SOCIAL EVENTS
Our members are passionate about their social tennis and we have strong turnouts for organised events throughout the week. We welcome all abilities to participate!
Our all year round weekly calendar of social tennis is:

Friday Club Night at 6pm

Saturday Afternoon at 2pm
We also hold tournaments on several Bank Holidays throughout the year. This is an opportunity for up to 24 people to compete in a light hearted tournament that combines fun and fantastic tennis and then to savour the congratulations in a great great social atmosphere in the Sportsclub bar afterwards.

TEAM TENNIS
Dukes Wood Tennis runs multiple teams across all age groups and categories (mens, ladies and mixed). While we are represented in the top division in most categories, we successfully compete across the full range of divisions, so cater for all levels of team players. Should you be interested in joining one of the teams please speak to one of our coaches, or Mike Twinning our club captain.
